SEPTIEMBRE 2017 NOTICIAS PARA PADRES

Queridos padres y guardianes,

Ya que avanza el otoño, quería tomar un momento para informarles que estamos muy agradecidos

de trabajar con sus hijos cada día. Son entusiastas, inteligentes y alegres. En orden de continuar teniendo días escolares increíbles, quisiera compartir algunos consejos útiles que nos permitirán hacer nuestro mejor trabajo.

1. Los estudiantes no pueden llegar a Newlon antes de las 7:30 am para el desayuno cada día. Esperamos que sus hijos llegan seguros y contentos cada día y que no esperan afuera en tiempo inclemente antes d las 7:30. Esto puede ser incómodo e inseguro.

2. En la tarde, por favor respete todas las reglas de tráfico cuando recojan los niños. Entendemos que el tráfico no es divertido, pero a proteger la seguridad de nuestros estudiantes, es esencial que conduzca despacio, con cuidado y con seguridad durante la recogida.

3. Por favor asegúrese de revisar todos los materiales en la carpeta del jueves, ya que a menudo contiene información importante sobre los próximos eventos en Newlon o en la comunidad en general.

Una vez más, gracias por compartir sus hijos con nosotros cada día. Apreciamos todo lo que hacen en apoyo de ellos y de nuestra escuela.

La seguridad de nuestros

estudiantes es primero

 Para mantener la seguridad de todos nuestros estudiantes y el personal las puertas exteriores de la escuela se mantendrán cerradas durante el día escolar. Todos los visitantes se les pide para entrar a través de las principales puertas del lado este del edificio para registrarse y obtener un pase de visitante. Después de la campana de las 8:00 am, se requiere que todos los estudiantes y padres entren por la puerta principal. Por razones de seguridad los visitantes no tienen permito abrir puertas exteriores para que otros visitantes entren a la escuela. Las personas recogiendo estudiantes de la oficina principal deben tener al menos 18 años de edad y tener un permiso aprobado por los padres/tutores en nuestro sistema. Gracias por ayudarnos a mantener nuestra escuela segura.

Visitas al Comedor

Debido al aumento de visitas, me gustaría informarle que las regulaciones y expectativas de las visitas a la Cafetería tendrán un ligero ajuste para los padres y los miembros del personal de la cafetería.

A partir del martes, 05 de septiembre de 2017 permitiremos a los padres tres visitas por semana por persona. Habrá una hoja de registro diferente para todos los visitantes de la cafetería con el fin de llevar un registro de cada visita.

Sabemos que algunos padres quieren estar más involucrados con sus hijos y su escuela y utilizan la hora del almuerzo para crear esa participación, así que tenemos una opción para los padres también. La oficina Principal, junto con los miembros del personal de la cafetería aceptaran voluntarios en la cafetería para ayudar con las tareas de almuerzo. Los que apliquen para ser voluntarios tendrán que pasar por un proceso de solicitud y verificación de antecedentes a través de DPS. Una vez que los voluntarios son notificados por Newlon que su solicitud ha sido aprobada, estos voluntarios tendrán que inscribirse en un mínimo de tres días a la semana durante un mes o más para ayudar durante la hora de almuerzo.

Noche de Regreso a clases

Por favor marquen sus calendarios para el día miércoles 20 de septiembre a las 5:00, para la noche de regreso a clases. Tendrán la oportunidad de conocer a la maestra de sus hijos y aprender sobre las expectativas del salón y de la escuela. Después de las juntas con los maestros tendremos cena de "hotdogs"

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As we roll into Fall, I wanted to take a moment to let you know how excited we are to be working with your children each day. They are enthusiastic, intelligent and joyful. In service to continuing to have incredible school days, I would like to share a few helpful tips that will allow us to do our best work.

1. Students may arrive at Newlon no earlier than 7:30am for breakfast each day. We look forward to having your children join us for breakfast each day and want to make sure they do not have to wait outside in inclement weather for the doors to open at 7:30. This can be uncomfortable and unsafe.

2. In the afternoon, please respect all traffic rules and our neighbors when picking up.  We understand traffic isn't any fun but in an effort to protect the safety of our students, it is essential that you drive slowly, carefully and safely during pick up.

3. Please be sure to review all materials in the Thursday Folder as it often contains important information about upcoming events at Newlon or in the broader community.

Again, thank you for sharing your children with us each and every day. We appreciate all you do in support of them and our school.

Student Safety is #1

So that we can assure all our students and staff are safe at school every day all exterior doors will be locked during the school day. All visitors are asked to enter through the main doors on the East side of the building to sign in and get a visitors pass. After the 8:00am bell rings, all students and parents are required to enter through the main doors. For safety reasons, visitors are not permitted to open any exterior door to let other visitors inside at any time. Anyone who is picking up students from the main office must be at least 18 years old and have prior approval in our system from the parent/guardian. Thank you for helping keep our school safe.

Lunchroom Visits 

Due to an increase in Lunchroom visitations, we would like to inform families of our Lunchroom regulations and expectations for both parents and cafeteria staff members. Beginning Tuesday, September 5th, 2017 we will allow parents 3 visits per week per person. There will be a different sign-in sheet for all lunchroom visitors in order to keep track of each visit. 

We know some parents want to be more involved with their children and their school and utilize lunch hour to create that involvement, so we have an option for those parents as well. The main office, along with cafeteria staff members will be accepting cafeteria volunteers to help with lunch duties. Those who volunteer will need to go through an application process and background check through DPS. Once volunteers are notified by Newlon that your application has been cleared, these volunteers will need to sign-in a minimum of three days a week for one month or more to help during lunch hours. Back to School night

Please mark your calendars for Wednesday, September 20th   at 5:00, for Back to School Night. You'll have a chance to meet your child's teacher and learn more about classroom/school expectations. We'll have a hotdog dinner after you meet the teachers!
